Horror Genre

Fear, suspense and thrills are the typical emotions you feel while watching a horror movie. They can be full of gore and heart jumping moments that get your Adrenalin running. The horror genre is not easy to enjoy like a light-hearted comedy or action film. You have to particularly enjoy the genre or else it would be very difficult to watch. I enjoy horror films that make your mind work like the Saw series. Horror films are by far the best kind or movie. When you watch a horror movie you experience an emotion that is not very enjoyable but you end up loving what your watching. When I watch horror films I am usually scared to death but by the end of the movie, I am usually very impressed and want to watch more. It is rare to find people who fully enjoy horror and can watch it and analyse all the details. When most people watch it all they can think about is what might be the next frightening moment. Horror movies have been around for almost as long as film in general. As film has evolved so has horror. Over the years the effects, have improved making it so much more exhilarating, scarier and interesting.

The first horror movie was in the late 1890's and is still around 118 years later. That is pretty impressive, because the writers have to come up with new original stories, which is pretty hard to do, especially with the theme being horror. there is only so many stories that can keep the audience entertained. The original black and white films such as Dracula, starring Béla Lugosi marked the begging of horror films popularity. Without these popular films, horror movies would not be as popular and amazing as they are today.

Horror movies are by far the most exhilarating and interesting theme in film. There are horror movies all over the world made in different cultures and languages. Some of the scariest horror movies are made in Japan. There have been a lot of adaptions from Japanese movies to American movies, such as The Grudge and The Ring.

Our task is to make a documentary of the Film genre with our partners. We chose Horror because it would be really interesting to document and also entertaining. Horror is my favorite genre and I am very knowledgeable of the theme.

Similarities of these movies....

All of these movies have one thing in common, they are made to scare the wits out of you.
They use costume and props to scare the audience and also a lot of special effects.
horror movies use blood and characters that involve death to make it.
the major similarity that horror movies have is that it makes you feel fear.
When you are watching these movies you feel insecure, nervous, and scared.
Horror movies use diagetic sound and sound effects that are all similar to make the movie more intense and interesting.
